On-Site Sludge Analysis Laboratory

We have now officially opened our on-site laboratory which enables Brettex to support our clients with sludge analysis.

The facility is able to provide a full range of services to measure solids content for all liquors and sludges, COD and BOD, nutrient levels and a range of dissolved inorganics; analyse liquors and sludge to ensure optimum polymer type and addition levels; and analyse the sludge, polymer and filter belt configuration to ensure optimal thickening and dewatering on the plant installed on site.

The laboratory enhances the 2 mobile optimisation labs currently in operation

Health and Safety Events

March 7th, 2018

Brettex continue to invest heavily in health and safety activities, training and communication. During the month of February a number of health and safety events were organised by our SHEQ Manager, Mark Eastburn and his team. These interactive events have been designed to communicate the importance of working safely, share experiences and receive bespoke training on topics including asbestos awareness, first aid, working at heights, manual handling and the relevance of our POWSA dynamic risk assessment. Brettex Managing Director John Yates congratulated all involved on a successfully delivered programme and highlighted the importance of these types of event as an excellent method for communication of our company’s health and safety ethos. A full event programme for 2018 has been planned by our Health and Safety Team.

WWT Conference

February 27th, 2018

Brettex exhibited at the first Wastewater Treatment Conference of 2018 at the Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. The exhibition was a huge success and attracted a large number of attendees from across the water utility sector. Brettex showcased its newly developed remote asset performance tracking device and its closed loop automated optimisation system for thickening assets.  Alan Kirkland (Head of Research and Development) commented “This is my first wastewater conference. I found the event to be invaluable and particularly enjoyed the technical presentations and discussing the current and future opportunities with a number of key delegates”. Brettex have a full programme of exhibitions for 2018.

Procurement Manager

Zoe Wright joins the business as our new Procurement Manager. Zoe has had many years’ experience within the purchasing and procurement world and brings a wealth of experience to our business. Zoe was previously employed for many years as a PPG Industries Branch Manager. She has taken time out to raise her family and now is back in the commercial world. Zoe will be responsible for all purchasing and contract negotiations which will ensure products and services are sourced from a quality supply chain partner. Welcome to the Brettex Team Zoe!

R&D Manager

Brettex are excited to announce the successful appointment of a dedicated Research and Development Manager. Alan Kirkland has an abundance of knowledge in the R&D field stemming back 30 years. Alan was previously employed by Honeywell and focused his research in the gas and chemical industry. He will head up a small dedicated team of PhD and M.Eng engineers who are working on a range of innovative new products. His challenge will be to realise opportunities and utilise our company’s range of manufacturing and design capabilities to bring innovations from conception to completion.
