This £500,000 project includes newly designed open plan offices, upgraded communication and IT systems, a complete refurb of the workshop including additional cranage and new production flow system, enhanced storage facility which will enable us to expand our spare part stock to hold an excess of £1 million of equipment. Finally to keep our team in tip top condition, a state of the art gym – complete with a dedicated PT is included.

John Yates, Managing Director “This project has been a real challenge to maintain the high levels of service we provide to our customers and complete the building refurbishment work on time. Insight to Engineering Open Evening

June 15th, 2017

Brettex continues to invest in its youth development programme and the local community. The Head of a local youth club and our Operations Manager arranged an “Insight into Engineering” open evening at our Head Office. The objective of the evening was to help engage their young people in engineering disciplines. During the evening the group of young people tried their hand at welding with the aid of a virtual reality welding set. They were challenged to build a small 12v electrical circuit and illuminate a light if completed successfully. And for a construction piece of work they were to build a sturdy structure using marshmallows and dried spaghetti. There was also a session in our design office where the group drew and automated a 3D image on our SolidWorks system. It was a fun event where everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Chris Wickham, our Operations Manager concluded with guidance to the young people on to how to get into engineering as a career and offered work placements to the group.
